In-law suites are typically attached to the main home or within it. ADUs are often detached. Zoning rules differ—in-law suites may have fewer restrictions but often can't be rented to non-family.
A separate entrance adds privacy and independence, but isn't always required by code. We can design connected or independent access based on your family's needs.
