Sunroom FAQs

A sunroom is a room with large windows or glass walls and ceiling that brings outdoor light and views into the home while providing weather protection. They range from prefabricated solarium kits to fully custom insulated four-season rooms.

A four-season sunroom with proper insulation, double-pane low-e glass, and connection to the home's HVAC is comfortable year-round. A three-season sunroom is usable in mild weather but not in extreme cold or heat.

A permanent sunroom attached to the house requires a building permit for structural, electrical, and in many cases mechanical (HVAC) work. We handle all permits as part of the project.

A well-built, properly permitted sunroom adds to the home's marketable square footage if it meets the standards for conditioned space. Buyers in most markets view a quality sunroom as a premium feature.
