Countertop FAQs

Quartz engineered stone is the most durable for everyday kitchen use — non-porous, stain-resistant, doesn't need sealing, consistent in color. Quartzite (natural stone) is also very hard but requires sealing. Granite is durable but porous. Marble is beautiful but stains and etches easily in a working kitchen.

Template is made after cabinet installation, fabrication takes 7–10 days, and installation is 1 day. The gap between template and installation is the time the kitchen is without a functional countertop. We minimize this by sequencing the template as early as possible.

If the countertop is in good condition and the cabinet layout isn't changing significantly, yes — but cuts for sinks and cooktops may need to be adjusted. Usually replacing countertops during a kitchen remodel makes more sense than working around existing ones.

Eased (squared with a slight soften on the corner) and mitered edges are clean and contemporary. Ogee and bullnose profiles are more traditional. We discuss options during design — edge profile significantly affects the countertop's overall feel.
