Peak Builders & Roofers of San Diego installs concrete and paver surfaces throughout San Diego. From driveways to patios, properly installed hardscaping adds beauty, functionality, and value to your property. We design surfaces that complement your home and handle California's freeze-thaw cycles.

Quality paver installation starts with proper base preparation. Our team excavates, grades, and compacts the foundation before laying any pavers. We include edge restraints, joint sand, and sealing options that prevent shifting and weed growth for years to come.

Concrete & Pavers FAQ

Similar maintenance. Pavers benefit from occasional sealing (every 3–5 years) to protect color and reduce weed intrusion in joints. Poured concrete also needs sealing. The advantage of pavers is that settled sections can be re-leveled without visible repair.

Stamped concrete is less expensive upfront but more difficult to repair — a crack in stamped concrete is visible and hard to match. Pavers cost more initially but allow targeted repair and maintain their appearance longer.

Tumbled or brushed-finish concrete pavers provide natural slip resistance. Light-colored pavers stay cooler underfoot in San Diego summers than dark tile or concrete. We recommend non-slip finishes specifically for wet zones around pools.

Most San Diego residential projects — a 600–1,000 sq ft patio or driveway — take 1–2 weeks of active installation. Larger projects with complex patterns run 2–3 weeks.

Some settling can occur, particularly in areas with expansive clay soils (common in inland San Diego). The advantage is that settled sections can be re-leveled by lifting and resetting the affected units — no grinding or patching required.
