Most cracks can be filled and sealed to prevent water entry. However, cracks from structural failure or severe heaving may require slab replacement.
Water enters concrete, freezes and expands, breaking off the surface layer. Poor air entrainment during original pour and deicing salts accelerate spalling.
Perfect matches are difficult—concrete weathers and colors change. We get as close as possible, but some variation is normal. Resurfacing the entire area provides uniformity.
When more than 25-30% of the surface needs repair, replacement is often more cost-effective. Significant settling or structural cracks also warrant replacement.
